Komel is an R&B singer and song writer born in Pakistan and brought up in East London. Komel began singing and song writing at the tender age of 9 years old, she joined her school Choir and went on to perform at The Royal Albert Hall. Komel grew up listening to her fathers music collection - Mariah Carey, Lionel Ritchie, Barry White, Michael Bolton, Whitney Houston & Abba. As a young girl she developed a real ear for soulful R&B & Pop, growing up she listened to a lot of Britney Spears, Christina Aguilera, Destiny’s Child, Justin Timberlake, Nelly Furtado, Aaliyah, Tyrese, TLC and Backstreet boys.
Komels inspirations for her current sound are artists such as: Tory Lanez, Bryson Tiller, Rihanna, HER, Kehlani, Summer Walker, Jhene Aiko and Tank.
The latest release by Komel titled ‘Twenty One Oh Five’ is produced by the talented Bluey. ‘Twenty One Oh Five’ showcases Komel’s soulful R&B voice with production tones of RNG, TrapSoul and Grime sounds combined with traditional R&B and shows of her song writing skills.
Twenty one oh five is named after her daughter date of birth. Having faced life’s trials and tribulations as a young mother trying to find her feet, Komel dedicated this EP project to her daughter.
The art work is a picture of Southend pier whilst driving driving back to east London from a day away to reflect and gather her thoughts on her project. The picture was taken on Bluey’s phone and was the perfect fit for the EP art work.
Komel has been song writing for big names in the US R&B scene and is awaiting confirmation of placements for her written material. Komel has also been noticed by other well known names in the music industry such as Timbaland, Grades, Cece Peniston, Rhona Bennett of En Vogue, Bouncer - PlayDirty, Unknown T, J Spades, London On The Track and Will I Am via social media.
